Our kitchen
Ruth opened Little Oven Bakery in 2016 after eight years in hotel pastry sections. The shop still bakes everything on site, in batches small enough that one person can watch them.
Sponges go in at half five, buttercream is whipped at eight, and decorating runs until the last collection. Nothing is frozen and nothing is bought in, which is why the list is shorter than a supermarket counter and why the dates matter.
We turn work away when the day is full rather than rush a cake through. If we cannot do your date we will say so straight away and point you at somebody who can.
The team

Cake decorator
Does the piping, the sugar flowers and every wedding set up. Ten years on tiered cakes, none of them dropped.
Kitchen and orders
Answers the phone, runs the allergen checks and packs your box so it arrives the shape it left in.
Nut free orders are baked first thing on a cleaned down bench with separate tins and piping bags. Every order leaves with a printed allergen sheet, and the full table is on the cakes page.
The counter is open Tue to Fri, 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday mornings. Wedding tastings are booked in for Thursdays.
