The details.
Opening hours
Summer hours and winter hours.
Last orders in the dining room are half an hour before we close. The hatch keeps going until the fish runs out.
Marina car park is 200 metres up Pier Road, £2.50 for two hours. The station car park takes longer stays. There is no parking on the pier itself.
Six minutes from the swing bridge along the west side. The 199 steps are on the other bank, so you can eat first and climb after.
Level entrance from Pier Road, an accessible toilet on the ground floor, and four tables with room for a wheelchair. Tell us when you book and we will hold one.
Dogs are welcome in the front room and on the terrace. There is a water bowl by the door and a jar of biscuits behind the till.

Questions
The ones we are asked at the door.
Do you take bookings?
Yes, for the dining room, up to eight people online and by phone for larger tables. The takeaway hatch is walk-up only, or pre-order for collection.
Can I turn up without booking?
Most weekdays, yes. On summer weekends the wait is 40 minutes or so from 12:30, and we take your mobile number rather than make you stand in the rain.
What if I do not eat fish?
There is a vegetarian option on every section and a vegan pie with chips and gravy. Tell us when you book and the kitchen will look after it.
Are the chips cooked in beef dripping?
They are, because that is how Whitby does it. We keep a separate fryer for vegetarian and vegan orders, so just ask.
Do you do gift vouchers?
Yes, in £25 and £50, valid for a year, and they work on the takeaway hatch as well as in the dining room.
Ring us, we answer the phone ourselves.
Someone in the kitchen picks it up between services.
