Menu
Today first, then the rest.
The catch board is written each morning after the buying. Everything below it is on all week, unless the sea says otherwise.
Catch board
Tap a fish to see the boat.
Each line is one landing. The skipper, the gear and how the kitchen cooks it are all on the card, because a fish caught in a pot off Sandsend is not the same dinner as one trawled from the North Sea.
Allergens: our fryers use beef dripping and share a kitchen with gluten, milk, mustard and crustaceans. Ask any of us for the folder and we will read it with you.
Skipper Dan Cowley. Day boat, seine net.
In the kitchen: In beer batter, or grilled with parsley butter
Prices are for the plate, chips included on the fryer dishes. Market fish is weighed in front of you.
Takeaway hatch
Pre-order, then walk up.
Hatch prices are below dining room prices because you are carrying it yourself. Pay on collection, cash or card. Wrapped in paper, salt and vinegar on request.
The green hatch on the Pier Road side of the building, next to the ice machine.
Ten portions or more, please call 01947 601 884 the day before so the fryers keep up.
Drinks
Short list, sensible prices.
Two Yorkshire cask ales, a lager, a cider from Ampleforth, six wines by the glass chosen to sit next to fish, and a proper pot of tea. Bottled Whitby lemonade for the drivers.
Ask what came in this morning.
The board is written by eleven, every day we are open.
