How the price happens
No survey fee. No sales visit.
A photograph from the pavement tells us more than most people expect. If it does not, we say so and book a proper look rather than guessing at a number.
Repairs, slipped slates, split flashings and blocked gutters priced from your photo before the yard shuts.
Re-roofs and flat roofs: we come out, fly the drone, and the written quote follows within two working days.
Storm damage: sheeted and made safe first, priced afterwards, whatever the weather is doing.

What a roof costs and how long it lasts depends on what is on it. Here is what we charge for each, and what we do differently from the firm that quoted you off the back of a van.
Natural Welsh and Spanish slate
Slate roofs
Stripped back to the rafters, new breathable membrane, treated battens, then hand-sorted slate laid to the original gauge. Terraces across Walkley and Crookes are almost all slate, so we keep three thicknesses in the yard.

What we do
Roofs, gutters, chimneys, scaffold.
One crew and one price for the lot. Starting figures below; every job is quoted in writing after we have seen it.
Full re-roofing
Strip, membrane, batten and re-cover in slate or tile, with new ridge, verge and flashings. Scaffold, waste and the building notice are in the price.
Leaks and storm repairs
Slipped slates, cracked tiles, split flashings, blown ridges. We photograph the fault from the scaffold or the drone before we touch it, and again once it is fixed.
Flat roofs and dormers
EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass over a new insulated deck. Garages, extensions and dormer cheeks, with the fall corrected so water actually leaves the roof.
Guttering, fascias and soffits
Full UPVC or aluminium replacement, or a clear and re-fix where the run is sound. Downpipes taken into the gully properly rather than left to splash the wall.
Chimney and lead work
Re-pointing, re-flaunching, new lead soakers and step flashings, removal and capping off. Every stack gets a photo report, because you will never see the top of it yourself.
Scaffolding
Our own towers and edge protection, put up by CISRS trained scaffolders. Erected the working day before we start and struck within two days of finishing.

WhatsApp a picture of the roof from the pavement, or of the stain on the ceiling. Most of the time that is enough for us to price a repair the same day.
We get above it
For anything bigger than a repair we fly the drone or put a ladder up, and you get the photographs whether you use us or not.
One written price
Scaffold, waste, materials and VAT in a single figure. No day rates, and no telling you we found something else once we were up there.
Booked, done, signed off
A start date in writing, the crew on site by 7:30, and a 20-year guarantee registered in your name the day we strike the scaffold.
