The short-notice work that keeps a factory running. Galvanised open mesh flooring, kick plates, GRP treads, handrail to BS 4592. We hold stock of the common sections so a Monday drawing can be a Friday delivery.
Our own erection gangs and appointed lifting plant, so the frame that leaves the shop is the frame we stand up.
CPCS slinger banksmen, appointed person for the lift plan, mobile crane hire arranged and priced with the steel. Handover pack with as-built survey, torque records and the EN 1090 certificate.
How a job runs
GA drawings, a sketch or a photograph. DWG, DXF, PDF, IFC or a phone picture of a bracket. We will tell you within a day if we have enough to price.
A tonnage take-off, a rate per tonne and a separate line for paint, galvanising and erection. Nothing hidden inside a lump sum.
Our detailer models the frame and issues mark drawings. Nothing is cut until you or your engineer sign them off.
Bar-coded through the shop. Welds inspected against the WPS, dimensional check recorded, then blast and paint or galvanising.
Loaded in the order your gang needs it, or stood up by ours. Handover pack with the EN 1090 declaration on the day we finish.
Common questions
A general arrangement drawing and a section schedule is ideal. A marked-up sketch with dimensions is usually enough for secondary steel. If it is a repair, a photograph and the plate thickness will do.
Yes, either to your engineer's loads or as a full design under our own PI cover. We issue calculations with the approval drawings.
We fabricate to EN 1090-2 execution class EXC3 with factory production control certified by a notified body. A declaration of performance is issued with every job.
We blast and paint in house to a specified system, and we run galvanising through a partner plant in the North East on a two-day turnaround.
Shop work goes anywhere in the UK. Site welding and erection gangs work from Berwick to Teesside as standard, and further for framework clients.
Yes. A single lintel or a set of ladder brackets is welcome. We keep stock of the common sections so short-notice work does not wait on a mill order.
